Oh, How I Wish I Could Fly
By Sarah K
Once upon a time, 2,000 years ago to be exact, there were 4 very good friends. Their names were Bloodsucker, Fiona, Trigger, and Skull. Bloodsucker was a vampre, Trigger was a greedy giant, and Skull was a skeleton that always got into troublebecause of teh way his bones rattled when he walked. Fiona was a fairy. There was one little creature that was lonely. That creature was teh Witch Evil Eye was her name. Evil Eye was a witch that could turn into a cat. She always was looking for a good prank. She was 500 years old.
Our story starts here, in Skull Creek, Nebraska. One day, Bloodsucker, Fiona, Trigger and Skull decided that they wanted some adventure. They planned that October 31 (Halloween)they would sneak out of tehir coffins, flowers and giant houses to go to the old house down the street. The house had been abandoned for hundreds of years. No one lived in it, or so they thought.
Weeks passed and finally it was October 31. That night, after all of their monstar family memebrs went to go to scare the "fleshies", they snuck away from their parents and all met ar 207 Scare Street at 11:00pm. By 11:15 pm, they were all there and ready to explore. So, they walked up the long driveway to the spooky , old house. Trigger broke the door down so they could all go inside, but Trigger was too big. He couldn't fit inside. So he had to stay outside and watch for someone coming. Once they were inside the house, they split up and explored the house. Fiona went upstairs and Skull and Bloodsucker went to the basement.
Once Fiona was upstairs, she saw the most adorable flower chairs. Fiona, being as curious as she was, sat in one of the chairs. As soon as she sat down, the chair slammed shut on her and she went sliding down a tunnel to a strange room. She didn't know where she was. And to make matters worse, she was chained up to a wall. Suddenly, a black cat popped into the dungeon and transformed into Evil Eye, the witch.
"One down, two to go," Evil Eye said to herself.
Then, the door to the dungeon popped open and Skull came in. Evil Eye quickly changed back into a cat and walked over to Skull and rubbed against his legs.
"Hey, little kitty. What are you doing here?" Skull asked the cat.
"Watch out," Fiona exclaimed."That's no cat! That's a wtich!"
"Sure it is. Just like that pumpkin overe there is a carriage." Skull said sarcastically.
Then, all of a sudden, the cat changed back into a witch. Skull was so scared that his bones were rattling so hard he couldn't move. So she grabbed him and chained him up too. Just then, the dungeon door slammed open again, this time it was Bloodsucker that came in. He saw that his friends were in trouble , and he changed into a vampire bat and said, "Hey, onion breath! Ya! Over there! Come and get me!"
The witch looked around in confusion. So Bloodsucker flew right in front of her face and said, "Hello! I'm right here! Come and get me!" So the witch came after him and chased hin all the way to the entrance, and just when they got outside, Bloodsucker flew straight up into the air and yelled, "Step on her Trigger! Step on her!" So Trigger did as he was told and stepped on her. That was the end of Evil Eye.
Bloodsucker went back insideand freed his friends. He used his vampire teeth. Once they were all free, Fiona said, "Boy, I wish I could transform into a bat like you. That way I would have been able to get out of here myself."
That night they all went back home and went to sleep. All of then except Bloodsucker. Bloodsucker knew Fiona lived and was going to make her wish come true. So he snuck out of bed and went to Fiona's flower in which she lay sleeping. He crawled inside with her and bit her on the neck. He went back to his house and went to sleep.
The next morning she woke up and found herself with bat wings and bat teeth, but not just any bat teeth, vampire bat teeth. She screamed really loud and woke up all of her family. When they saw her, they screamed and hid. They discussed how they were going to live with her now like that. They decided that they would just have to lock their flowers at night. So she gets to stay with them.
One night, Trigger came and kidnapped her. After he kidnapped her, he went to the graveyard and kidnapped Bloodsucker. He took them to his home in the woods, tied them up, and began boiling water for stew. Both Bloodsucker and Fiona knew what to do. They both turned into bats and began gnawing through the rope. Within five minutes, they had both broken free. They flew close to Trigger and bit him in his heart. When the venom from their teeth met the heart, Trigger died. They both felt bad about having to kill a friend, but they knew that if they just left, he would come after them until he ate them.
Skull was notified about the death, and when the funeral was. Skull could attend the funeral close up because he wasn't a vampir bat, but both Bloodsucker and Fiona had to watch from a distance, because they were his murderers, and they would be in trouble if they were caught there.
Bloodsucker couldn't do anything about Fiona's batty side. Poor Fiona had to spend the rest of her life known as half fairy and half vampire bat, all because of a stupid wish that she now regretted.
The moral of the story: Be careful what you wish for.
