A Big Mistake

            John is a little boy walking down to his grandma’s house when he sees a white muskrat in some bushes.  He remembers what his pa always said, “white muskrats are usually rare and can make a fortune out them.”  John grabs his net out of his bag and holds it steady and “BOOM” gets knocked over and sees his friend.  His friend Joe asked him why he was on the ground.  John told Joe the story and Joe walked home.

            John went inside his grandma’s house yelling, “Grandma, Grandma, Grandma.” Grandma was happy to see John so excited. John told grandma about the rare animal. Grandma thought John was playing a joke like he always does so she played along with him. John ran to the garage and told his grandpa. Grandpa couldn’t believe what he said and asked, “Where did you see the animal?”  John told grandpa the story. 

            John goes back to the spot with old Harry where he got knocked over.  He grabbed his net and lantern and went into the woods.  He noticed it was getting dark and had old Harry spot trouble in front of them.  John notices something moving at lightening speed in front of them and old Harry started to whine.  Then suddenly old Harry’s leash broke and the dog ran back to grandma’s house and John got mad and yelled you stupid dog.  John sees a deer with a mammoth gash in its neck and starts to worry.  All of a sudden he hears a wolf howl and sees an albino werewolf.  John dropped everything and ran as fast as he could.  He hid behind a tree and thought he lost the animal.  He looked down and saw old Harry dead.  He heard a voice saying, “YOU’RE NEXT!”  He felt something warm breathing on him.  He turned around and he disappeared.  He was never seen again.
